About Janet Elizabeth
I am a visionary leader, mentor, and executive coach dedicated to helping leaders, businesses, and individuals gain clarity, take intentional action, and create lasting transformation. My journey has been anything but linear—I've built a career at the intersection of leadership, IT strategy, human transformation, and business growth. But at the heart of it all, my passion remains the same: empowering people to break through barriers, elevate their quality of life, and build a legacy of impact.
You may know me as Janet Mertens or Janet Murphy, but at my core, I am simply Janet Elizabeth—a leader committed to guiding others toward alignment, success, and fulfillment. My work is about creating exponential transformation in leadership, business, relationships, and personal growth.
I founded EmpowerXEffect as a platform to guide leaders, businesses, and visionaries through tailored coaching, mentorship, and strategic growth. My approach is rooted in systems thinking, human-centered leadership, and transformational coaching, helping my clients navigate complexity, align their vision with action, and thrive in every aspect of life.
Most recently, I launched Wild & Wise: Women Empowered, a growing community designed to help midlife women step into their power, lead with purpose, and craft their next chapter with clarity and intention. This work is deeply personal to me—it’s about creating spaces where women can redefine success, reconnect with themselves, and build a life of fulfillment.
Alongside my husband, Trey—a retired Marine and military veteran—I am also committed to serving the veteran community. We provide career and quality of life coaching, helping veterans navigate their transition into new careers and meaningful post-service lives. Together, we also lead Love CODES, a transformative workshop for couples that helps partners create a shared vision and intentional foundation for their relationship—what we call their Love Manifesto.
I also partner with my daughter, Darby, a Reiki Master, who brings her expertise in energy healing and holistic well-being to many of my clients and their families. She specializes in working with women, special needs children, and animals, helping them achieve balance, healing, and energetic alignment. Through this partnership, we provide a unique, integrative approach to personal transformation, combining coaching, leadership development, and energy work to support the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
I believe true success isn’t just about achieving goals—it’s about alignment, intentional growth, and the impact we leave behind. Through my work, I help leaders and individuals bridge the gap between where they are and where they’re meant to be—so they can lead, thrive, and create lasting change.
